Russell 3000(R) Index: Building Materials Subsector Reflected +3.5% Gain, Outperforming Materials & Processing Sector for Last Six Months as of January 13, 2012

SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwire) — 01/17/12 — The Building Materials subsector of the U.S broad market Russell 3000 Index reflected a 6 month gain of (+3.5%) from July 13, 2011 through January 13, 2012. The positive gain reflected by the Building Materials subsector helped stem the Materials & Processing sector-s losses at (-5.4%) for the same time period.

Looking closer, the Real Estate subsector of the Financial Services sector reflected a relatively large loss of (-26%) while the Financial Services sector posted a (-5.6%) loss for the 6 month period of July 13, 2011 through January 13, 2012.

Overall, the Russell 3000 Index posted a 6 month return of (-2.4%) for July 13, 2011 through January 13, 2012.
