KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ONTARIO — (Marketwire) — 06/05/12 — On Thursday, June 7th, BMO employees in Kitchener-Waterloo will help to beautify the green spaces of the DeafBlind Ontario Services buildings. Volunteers will prepare flower beds, prune, weed, plant, rake, seed lawns and clean a backyard pond.
DeafBlind Ontario Services supports adults who are deafblind with housing assistance, living skills, work experience and other specialized services.
The event will be part of the first North America-wide BMO Volunteer Day, with 6,500 employees across Canada and the U.S. rolling up their sleeves to give back.
“Volunteering at DeafBlind Ontario Services is a unique way for BMO employees to support a service in Kitchener-Waterloo that provides a key benefit to community members,” said Susan Brown, Senior Vice-President, Ontario Region, BMO Bank of Montreal. “Supporting the communities in which we live and work is a significant aspect of BMO-s volunteer efforts. Working with the agency staff and clients has been a tremendous experience.”
