Financial Control remains challenging for External Borders Fund User

Regarding programming and implementation of the External Borders Fund (EBF), member states still face technical and operational difficulties. The management of the application process remains still main obstacle for authorities to receive EU financial resources.

Reporting’s especially the final reports of 2008 annual programmes represent an additional challenge for Responsible, Audit and Certifying Authorities. As part of the general programme “Solidarity and management of migration flows”, establishes the External Borders Fund (EBF) for the period 2007-13 with resources totalling 1,820 billion Euros.

After the huge success of the first SOLID symposium October 2010 in Berlin the European Academy for Taxes, Economics & Law offered in a special designed European seminar participants in depth looks into best practices of Management and Financial Control of the External Borders Fund.
