HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA — (Marketwired) — 07/18/13 — BMO Bank of Montreal invites members of the media and Halifax Regional Municipality to the BMO Bank of Montreal Clayton Park West branch on Thursday, July 18th to celebrate the accomplishments of the Halifax Dunbrack U10B Girls who have been named the BMO Team of the Week.
Thursday-s branch celebration will recognize the accomplishments of this team with the presentation of $500 for the team, BMO Team of the Week tracksuits and $500 for Special Olympics Halifax, the team-s chosen charity. Representatives from BMO, Dunbrack Soccer and Special Olympics Halifax will be on hand to take part in the festivities.
In addition, the celebration event will kick off the team-s campaign to gain community support as they vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion. As one of 15 finalists, the team is now eligible to vie for the title of 2013 BMO Team of the Week Champion and a grand prize of $125,000 from BMO, which would be used to refurbish the team-s soccer field.
“These girls love their sport, their team and their club, and are not afraid to show it,” said Jim Kyriakakis, Head Coach of the Halifax Dunbrack U10B Girls. “This is more than just a sport for them, it is an opportunity to build relationships with teammates, develop skills for the game; all while having fun and cheering loudly.”

BMO Team of the Week is Canada-s premier sport celebration at the grassroots level, engaging a nation and inspiring communities by recognizing youth soccer teams who demonstrate team pride, team spirit, community commitment and passion for the game. Fifteen weekly winners will be named BMO Team of the Week starting April 17, and entered for a chance to be voted by Canadians as BMO Team of the Week 2013 Champion. The grand prize includes a $125,000 refurbishment of their community soccer field and a road trip to a Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Montreal Impact FC, or Canadian National Team home game. Former BMO Team of the Week Champions include Glen Shields Sun Devils 2000 (2011) and Ladner Storm (2012).
