Russell Global Indexes: Russell 3000 Index Outperformed Other Global Regional Indexes for the Month of September 2011

SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwire) — 10/05/11 — The U.S. broad-market Russell 3000® Index reflected a return of (-7.8%) for the month of September 2011, outperforming all other regions for the same time period. The Russell Latin America Index (-17.3%), Russell Europe Index (-11.7%), Russell Emerging Markets Index (-14.8%) and Russell Asia Pacific ex-Japan Index (-14.2%) all posted losses of greater than (-11%) for the month of September.

All Russell Global Index sectors also posted negative returns for September 2011, with Materials & Processing (-17.3%) posting the largest loss, followed by Energy (-13.6%). Health care and Utilities reflected identical returns of (-5.1%), outperforming all other sectors for the month.
