MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwire) — 11/06/11 — Van drivers have revealed that vehicle security is one of the top factors that they consider when choosing a new vehicle according to survey results from Swinton Commercial.
The retailer surveyed 1,000 van drivers, which asked them about the different factors they consider when picking their next van. Not surprisingly, 37% of van drivers consider price as the most important factor, however 29% would consider how secure a van is next.

According to Thatcham, the insurance industry-s research organisation, the 2011 vehicle security awards picked the most secure vans in the following categories: Light van, heavy van, pick up, 4×4 van and green van with Volkswagen Caddy (2011MY), Nissan Primstar SE (2011 MY), Volkswagen Amarok, Land Rover Discovery 4 and Ford Fiesta Sport Van taking the top accolades respectively.

Thieves who are hoping to get their hands on a stash of tools or expensive equipment can often target vans. It is also worth remembering that better secured vehicles are less likely to be targeted and may also carry lower premiums.”
