Bikers Reveal What is in Their Luggage Box

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwire) — 10/05/12 — A change of clothes, snacks, drinks and tablet computers are amongst the items motorcyclists keep in the top box of their motorcycles, according to new research by Swinton Bikes.

The broker surveyed its customers, and found that many riders find their top box to be a crucial part of their motorcycle, with a massive 78% using it to store journey essentials. These include food and drinks (37%), a scarf or hat (11%) and mobile phones or tablet computers (21%).

The research also revealed that motorcyclists use their top boxes almost every time they travel, with 92% of customers declaring that they put something in them for transportation every single day.

Anthony Aronin, head of Swinton Bikes said, “The top box is a great place to store motorcyclists- essential items which may otherwise be stored in a bikers pocket and increase the risk of injury.

“However, it is also vital that motorcyclists do not overload the top box as this could be dangerous and could lead to a road accident. Belongings need to be tightly secured at all times and a few steps to ensure security and safety can help reduce accidents and reduce the need to make costly claims.”
