BrightScope Lists the Top 25 Denver Area-Based Companies With the Best 401k Plans

SAN DIEGO, CA — (Marketwire) — 06/21/12 — BrightScope (), a leading provider of independent financial information and investment research, today announced its second annual list of the top Denver area-based companies with the highest ranked 401k plans containing more than $100 million in assets. This year BrightScope has extended the list to include the top 25 companies.

BrightScope obtains an increasing amount of its data directly from plan sponsors and record keepers, and augments these primary sources with data from publicly available sources such as the Department of Labor and the Securities and Exchange Commission. By analyzing and interpreting this data, BrightScope provides unprecedented transparency into the 401k industry.

Noteworthy findings in the 2012 Top 25 Denver area-based 401k Plans list include:

Frontrunners Frontier Refining & Marketing Inc. and Vodafone Americas, Inc. take the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, making their first appearance on this year-s list

Formerly ranked No. 1 Colorado Permanente Medical Group P.C. falls two spots down to No. 3., while previously ranked No. 2 DCP Midstream, LP falls four places to No. 6

Nine out of the top ten formerly ranked companies fell at least one spot on this year-s list; Most notably, Holland & Hart, LLP fell seven spots from 3rd to 10thand Level 3 Communications, Inc. fell 19 spots from 4th to 23rd. The only company that moved up in ranking was Janus Capital Group Inc. which moved up from 5th to 4th this year
