ECS, a Pioneer in Injury Prevention & Objective Assessments, Is Acquired by Millennium Rehab and Consulting, Inc.

DES MOINES, IA — (Marketwire) — 01/10/12 — Employment Cost Solutions (ECS), an Iowa company established in 2007, recently agreed to terms to sell their operation as a means to continue their explosive growth in the field of workplace injury prevention and assessments. ECS, with a fraction of the staff and resources typical in the industry, continually outperformed their larger competitors both in quality and quantity of FCEs. FCEs (Functional Capacity Evaluations) are an integral part of a work comp claim. ECS offered the only truly objective FCE on the market and, not surprisingly, changed the very nature of how injuries are assessed in Iowa.

ECS principals, Ankeny natives John Kruzich and Eric West, explored many possibilities for expansion, including partnerships with national and regional Physical Therapy companies. “We-re both proud of being from Iowa. Our goal is to one day grow this new partnership, which we-re calling E3, into an Iowa-based, nationally recognized leader in the field of workplace therapy and injury prevention. We simply wouldn-t have that opportunity had we partnered with a national or regional PT chain,” said West. “Certainly our decision was made easier given Millennium-s Iowa roots and their unparalleled reputation for providing quality service to their clients.”

ECS was unique, if not revolutionary, in the therapy community. Much like its predecessor, E3 will focus on Injury Prevention and Treatment solely related to the workplace. The three Es are Evaluate, Educate, Empower. John Kruzich explains, “Workplace injuries are different. For starters, many of them are preventable, which is the primary goal for us and our clients. However, injuries happen and once they do, there are a number of parties with a vested, and understandable, interest in the patient-s improvement. Most therapy programs are not prepared for that and as a result, the patient-s well being ceases to be the primary focus. That-s why we work solely on workplace injuries; we have a team in place, and therapists trained to communicate with everyone involved while never losing focus on the primary issue which is providing accurate, objective assessments and when needed, effective treatment that ultimately gets people back to work safely and more efficiently than traditional therapy systems.”

Rob Hentzen, Millennium-s CEO, states, “Our partnership with ECS gives Millennium an important entry into the Workers Compensation rehabilitation and testing market. Their expertise with exclusive and unbiased reporting has gained ECS an excellent reputation in the state of Iowa. This acquisition will enable us to take ECS- abilities throughout Millennium-s network of clinics and beyond.”
