Farmers Insurance Launches an Eight-City Mobile Catastrophe Claims (MCC) Bus Tour to Celebrate the Eastern Expansion of Farmers Insurance Companies

LOS ANGELES, CA — (Marketwire) — 09/17/12 — Farmers Insurance Group of Companies® will launch an eight-city Farmers Mobile Catastrophe Claims (MCC) Bus tour on September 24 to celebrate Farmers- expansion into the Eastern U.S.

“The MCC will visit Farmers AgencyPoint Offices (new Farmers expansion centers) in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Cherry Hill and Parsipanny, New Jersey,” stated Dan Schrock, Farmers Head of Eastern Expansion. “We will then stop at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg, PA; A.M. Best Company in Oldwick, New Jersey; a Farmers call center in Vestal, New York; and conclude the tour in Ithaca, New York,” Shrock said.

“In addition, our MCC will cook up an appreciation lunch for the fire departments of Philadelphia, PA, Cherry Hill and Fort Lee, New Jersey,” Schrock continued. “The touring MCC is one of three of our one-of-a-kind buses. The goal for this tour is to demonstrate the capabilities of Farmers Insurance when catastrophes strike. Being ready for a natural disaster is the best way to quickly recover from one.”

The Farmers MCC vehicles are 46 feet long and 13 feet wide and have state-of-the-art satellite communications equipment, plus food, supplies, water, cold and hot drinks for everyone. Once deployed, an MCC has the capability of handling more than 70 customer claims per hour during and following a disaster anywhere in the country. The generators on board can provide power to a small hospital or evacuation center, or help with satellite communications should police or fire command center satellites go down.
