Ophthotech is focused on developing and commercializing therapies for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), an expanding, multi-billion dollar therapeutic area. The company-s lead product candidate, an anti-PDGF agent (E10030), is the first therapy to demonstrate both disease modification and significant visual gain in the majority of patients with wet AMD when co-administered with an anti-VEGF agent.
