Ray Skinner Joins United Community Bank as SVP – Retail Banking

BLAIRSVILLE, GA — (Marketwire) — 09/27/12 — United Community Bank announces that Ray Skinner has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Retail Banking, reporting to Chief Operating Officer, Lynn Harton.

In this role, Skinner will be responsible for retail banking support for all UCBI regions, with emphasis on helping every region to have the tools and support needed to serve their customers in the most effective and responsive way possible.

“Ray is a 25-year banking veteran who has worked at all levels from the bank floor to leading complex retail banking systems,” Harton says. “This experience will be powerful in equipping and promoting the United bankers who come into contact with our customers every day. He will be a great addition to our team.

Among Skinner-s extensive previous experience was 14 years at National Commerce Financial, where he held many executive experiences, including SVP – Director of Customer Experience; SVP – Retail Banking, In-Store Line of Business; FVP – Retail Banking – Retail Banking, Regional Manager and VP – Branch Manager. He also served as EVP – NCBS, Managing Director, Chief Banking Consultant; SVP – Retail Banking, In-Store Line of Business; and SVP – Regional Director of Sales and Marketing at SunTrust Bank.

Skinner also has held various positions at Allied Credit Corporation, American Savings Bank and Community & Southern Bank. He is a graduate of University of Mississippi, and the Barret Graduate School of Banking at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.
