SEATTLE, WA — (Marketwire) — 10/11/11 — The Russell 1000 Defensive Index (2.4%) outperformed the Russell 1000 Dynamic Index (-10.7%) and the Russell 1000® (-4.0%) year-to-date, through October 10, 2011.
For the third quarter of 2011, the Russell 1000 Dynamic Index suffered a substantial loss of 20.8% while the Russell 1000 reflected a loss greater than 14%. The Russell 1000 Defensive Index outperformed both Indexes with returns of -8.8% for the same time period.
