MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM — (Marketwire) — 02/19/12 — According to a survey by Swinton, the UK-s leading broker, Harry Redknapp ticks all the boxes for the UK-s van drivers, to take up position as England Football Team-s new manager.
In a poll of 1,000 Swinton customers, over 52 per cent voted Redknapp for the role. Reasons for the choice were based upon Redknapp-s experience and ability to make average teams achieve great success.
David Beckham came in at second place but those questioned acknowledged the likelihood of this would be minimal due to his commitments to his LA Galaxy team.
24 per cent of van drivers think Stuart Pierce should be Capello-s successor having already worked with the current England squad, and Alan Pardew being favourite for 12 per cent of those questioned.
Out of the 400 female van drivers surveyed, a staggering 52 per cent would like to see David Beckham as manager, with Spanish heart-throb Jose Mourinho coming in a close second with 40 per cent.
Phil Moss, Commercial Vehicle Manager at Swinton said: “It looks like our van drivers want similar things to the rest of the nation which is Harry Redknapp. His years of experience are clearly important to football fans, particularly as the next England Manager will be expected to work wonders with the team during European Championships later this year. Appearance seems to be one of the major deciding factors for our female football fans, but they should remember that looks don-t always get you to the top!”
